Northwood ladies had fun in the sun today at BCA. Lily Taylor and her lovely boy Jasper were having their first outing at a show and jumped clear in both the 40cm and 50cm club show jumping classes.
Nichola Peace and Rory jumped clear in the 50cm club class and had 1 down in the 60cm club class.
Nichola and Inca then went in the Prelim 1/60cm combined training qualifier and came away in first place with a dressage of 34.8 and just one pole in the show jumping. So it’s off to the National Champs for this pair on 28th September!

We had an eventful day at the Area 6 Dressage Qualifiers at BCA today. After acquitting himself so well at the Intro Dressage National Champs, Nichola Peace decided it was time for Rory to step up to his first BRC Prelim tests. There were only 4 entries in each of the BRC Prelim 1 and 2 classes, so hopes were high of a good placing.
Unfortunately, despite Rory’s best efforts, 2 pilot errors (including attempting the final centre line from the wrong end π) dropped the pair from 1st to 3rd place. We opted not to rely on Nichola’s memory for Prelim 2 and kept a clean sheet, taking 2nd place with 66.20% (less than half a percent off 1st place). So it was smiles all round to finish the day and a big pat for Rory! π

Lovely ride today at Cholsey with the ‘plods’ thankyou to Sara-Jane Larner for organising such a shame you couldn’t make it .
