No ribbons today for Tracey Bourne and Bob at the Horse Trials Champs but congratulations are still in order. They stood in 11th place out of 40 starters on a good dressage score of 32.5. Unfortunately Bob had a scare in the show jump warm up and went on to pick up penalties in the ring which put them out of contention. Nevertheless they made up for it today with a solid clear on the xc course finishing 22nd overall. They have two Combined Championships to look forward to in October.

It is now just under 4 weeks to the CHALFONT HEIGHTS OPEN SHOW ON SUNDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER being held at Cheines Manor. This is a lovely family show with lots of classes for everyone and the opportunity to win beautiful sashes in our Championship Classes. Not satisfied with a team win at last week’s Combined Training Qualifier, Tracey Bourne and Bob pulled off an Individual Win in the Area 6 80cm Horse Trials Qualifier today at Munstead. The pair scored fab 29.3 dressage and were in second place after a clear round in the show jumping. They stormed round the XC, to finish inside the time (the only pair to do so) and take the overall win.

They qualify for the National Championships at Swalcliffe in August.

Northwood had a fantastic day today at the Combined Training Qualifier at Cherwell beating 7 other club teams to take first place. Our riders also had individual placings in other classes.

Sara-Jane Larner and Thor took first place in Team Prelim2 /70cm with a dressage score of 31.4 and a clear round.
Nichola Peace and Inca took Individual 2nd place in Prelim 2/70cm with 31.7 dressage and a clear round. They also took 3rd place in Team Prelim 12/70cm with 32.6 dressage and a clear round.
Tracey Bourne and Bob took 3rd place in Team Novice 27/80cm with 32.0 dressage and a clear round. They also took Individual 4th in Prelim 2/70 with 31.4 dressage and four faults SJ.
Sharon Wood and Molly took individual 2nd in Prelim 12/70cm with 32.6 dressage and a clear round. They also placed 6th in Team Novice 27/80cm with 30.2 dressage and 4 faults SJ.
The team go through to the National Championships on 5th October at Aston-le-Walls.

What a fantastic day today for Northwood’s Sharon Wood and her pocket rocket Molly at the Area 6 Show Jumping Qualifiers at BCA.
In the 70cm, they led the 26-strong class from start to finish, jumping a double clear in an unbeatable time.
In the 80cm class, they again went out first and jumped another double clear in a time that none of the other 28 competitors could match.
National Championships here we come!!
